The company started as co-curator and producer of digital film and urban art content in collaboration with D Nerve Lab, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Resfest Media group/Palm Pictures, New York, USA.

After which the company entered the film production world with the 10 years of Dogma spin off film project Does it hurt? First Balkan Dogma. The film was selected for production and scenario development North by Northwest/East OF Eden, Denmark and Berlinale Talent Campus. Upon completion Does it hurt? was nominated for a Tiger Award at IFFR, got the special jury award at BIFF and went on to have a successful festival, cinema and online presentation (more than 20 festivals and 24 million views on IFFR YouTube channel).

In the following period Aka Film produced numerous short fiction films, various TV, transmedia and art projects and co-produced two feature films.

AKA Film is distributing Death Becomes Us (video art) and developing the hybrid documentary project FEW MONUMENTS MORE, FEW PEOPLE LESS (working title).
